The Large Hadron Collider " Rap " !

Hello Humanoids . After so many tech related articles , its time to sit back , relax and learn . This time , i found a 2 month old video which was about one of the most discussed about topic of this month : Large Hadron Collider , yes you must have heard a lot about it but do you exactly know what its all about ?

I myself have little knowledge about LHC , so i did some googling , found tons of videos and articles which made me comfortable about this experiment . But not everybody knows about this , and what better way can it be to learn about LHC by listening to a song based on the LHC !

This rap was made by Kate McAlpine 2 months ago , which became immensely popular getting more than 3 million views on Youtube , i think this rap is just way too amazing , and yes if you just listen to the beats then you aren't getting what the main aim is : To Know what LHC does and how can people make a rap on it !

Here is the video

CERN Rap from Will Barras on Vimeo.

IF you have problems in understanding the lyrics , you can see the lyrics from here :

The Large Hadron Rap
Twenty-seven kilometers of tunnel under ground
Designed with mind to send protons around
A circle that crosses through Switzerland and France
Sixty nations contribute to scientific advance
Two beams of protons swing round, through the ring they ride
‘Til in the hearts of the detectors, they’re made to collide
And all that energy packed in such a tiny bit of room
Becomes mass, particles created from the vacuum
And then…
LHCb sees where the antimatter’s gone
ALICE looks at collisions of lead ions
CMS and ATLAS are two of a kind
They’re looking for whatever new particles they can find.
The LHC accelerates the protons and the lead
And the things that it discovers will rock you in the head.
We see asteroids and planets, stars galore
We know a black hole resides at each galaxy’s core
But even all that matter cannot explain
What holds all these stars together – something else remains
This dark matter interacts only through gravity
And how do you catch a particle there’s no way to see
Take it back to the conservation of energy
And the particles appear, clear as can be
You see particles flying, in jets they spray
But you notice there ain’t nothin’, goin’ the other way
You say, “My law has just been violated – it don’t make sense!
There’s gotta be another particle to make this balance.”
And it might be dark matter, and for first
Time we catch a glimpse of what must fill most of the known ‘Verse.
Because…
LHCb sees where the antimatter’s gone
ALICE looks at collisions of lead ions
CMS and ATLAS are two of a kind
They’re looking for whatever new particles they can find.
Antimatter is sort of like matter’s evil twin
Because except for charge and handedness of spin
They’re the same for a particle and its anti-self
But you can’t store an antiparticle on any shelf
Cuz when it meets its normal twin, they both annihilate
Matter turns to energy and then it dissipates
When matter is created from energy
Which is exactly what they’ll do in the LHC
You get matter and antimatter in equal parts
And they try to take that back to when the universe starts
The Big Bang – back when the matter all exploded
But the amount of antimatter was somehow eroded
Because when we look around we see that matter abounds
But antimatter’s nowhere to be found.
That’s why…
LHCb sees where the antimatter’s gone
ALICE looks at collisions of lead ions
CMS and ATLAS are two of a kind
They’re looking for whatever new particles they can find.
The LHC accelerates the protons and the lead
And the things that it discovers will rock you in the head.
The Higgs Boson – that’s the one that everybody talks about.
And it’s the one sure thing that this machine will sort out
If the Higgs exists, they ought to see it right away
And if it doesn’t, then the scientists will finally say
“There is no Higgs!  We need new physics to account for why
Things have mass.  Something in our Standard Model went awry.”
But the Higgs – I still haven’t said just what it does
They suppose that particles have mass because
There is this Higgs field that extends through all space
And some particles slow down while other particles race
Straight through like the photon – it has no mass
But something heavy like the top quark, it’s draggin’ its ***
And the Higgs is a boson that carries a force
And makes particles take orders from the field that is its source.
They’ll detect it….
LHCb sees where the antimatter’s gone
ALICE looks at collisions of lead ions
CMS and ATLAS are two of a kind
They’re looking for whatever new particles they can find.
Now some of you may think that gravity is strong
Cuz when you fall off your bicycle it don’t take long
Until you hit the earth, and you say, “Dang, that hurt!”
But if you think that force is powerful, you’re wrong.
You see, gravity – it’s weaker than Weak
And the reason why is something many scientists seek
They think about dimensions – we just live in three
But maybe there are some others that are too small to see
It’s into these dimensions that gravity extends
Which makes it seem weaker, here on our end.
And these dimensions are “rolled up” – curled so tight
That they don’t affect you in your day to day life
But if you were as tiny as a graviton
You could enter these dimensions and go wandering on
And they'd find you...
When LHCb sees where the antimatter’s gone
ALICE looks at collisions of lead ions
CMS and ATLAS are two of a kind
They’re looking for whatever new particles they can find.
The LHC accelerates the protons and the lead
And the things that it discovers will rock you in the head.

I hope you enjoyed watching this video ,  there have been rumors that these guys are going to make another video when the LHC experiment gets successfully over :  Lets hope they do make another one !

Best Rock Songs Ever - An attempt to remember Rock hits

You and i know what Rock is ( not the stone neutral ) . We have been influenced by thousands and thousands of songs but still some are pure legendary. This is an original post and if you find this similar to any post then , I DONT CARE.

Lets have a look at My all time favorite Rock Songs :

  • Bohemian Raphsody :

It is a song by Freddie Mercury and originally recorded by the band Queen for their 1975 album A Night at the Opera. The song is in the style of a stream-of-consciousness nightmare, and has unusual musical structure for popular music (it has no chorus, instead consisting of seemingly disjunct sections including operatic segments and an a cappella and heavy metal part). Despite this, it was released as a single and became a huge commercial success. In addition, the song is widely hailed as Queen's magnum opus, and it marked a decisive point in the band's career and set them on the way to become one of the world's most popular music groups. The single was accompanied by a groundbreaking music video (then termed a "promotional video") which helped establish the visual language of the modern music video. A truncated version of the song was included in all Queen's subsequent live concert performances (it is impossible to reproduce live in its entirety, being a complex studio creation) and still enjoys great popularity around the world. It is ranked #163 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". But people call it the best song ever written , for me it is True.
You wanna relive the moment and see the legendary freddie and his band queen sing the best rock song ever ? Here you go :

  • Stairway to Heaven :
  • Like a Rolling Stone :
Like a Rolling Stone" is a Bob Dylan song from the album Highway 61 Revisited. It was released as a single in 1965 and is one of the most widely recognized and influential of Dylan's songs. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it as the greatest song of all time. In his 1988 speech inducting Dylan into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Bruce Springsteen remembered, "The first time I heard Bob Dylan, I was in the car with my mother listening to WMCA, and on came that snare shot that sounded like somebody had kicked open the door to your mind". Website Acclaimed Music also ranks it #1 on its Top 3000 songs list.

  • Satisfaction : I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" is a hit riff-driven rock song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for The Rolling Stones and produced by Andrew Loog Oldham. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song as number 2 on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, while VH1 placed it at number 1 on its "100 Greatest Songs of Rock & Roll" list. In 2006 it was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
  • Purple Haze : Purple Haze is a song recorded in 1967 by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, released as a single in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

The single peaked at number three in the UK but only number 65 in the US, where it was released in June 1967, a month after the UK LP "Are You Experienced" and three months after the UK single. In March 2005, Q magazine ranked "Purple Haze" at number one in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. The Rolling Stone magazine placed the song at No. 17 in their "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

  • Hey Jude : Hey Jude" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles that was recorded in 1968. Originally titled "Hey Jules", the ballad was written by McCartney—and credited to Lennon/McCartney—to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' divorceHey Jude" was released in August 1968 as the first single from The Beatles' record label Apple Records. Over seven minutes in length, "Hey Jude" was at the time the longest single ever to top the British charts. It also spent nine weeks as number one in the United States—the longest run at the top of the American charts for a Beatles single. The single has sold approximately eight million copies and is frequently included on professional lists of the all-time best songs.
  • Smells like teen spirit : Smells Like Teen Spirit" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, and the opening track and lead single from the band's 1991 breakthrough album NevermindTeen Spirit" was Nirvana's first and biggest hit, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and placing high on music industry charts all around the world in 1991 and 1992.The song was dubbed an "anthem for apathetic kids" of Generation XIn the years since Nirvana's breakup, listeners and critics have continued to praise "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as one of the greatest rock songs of all time.
  • Hotel California :Hotel California is an album released by the American rock band The Eagles in late 1976 (see 1976 in music). Hotel California was the Eagles' fifth album of original material and became a critical success and a major commercial hit; since its release in late 1976, it has sold over 16 million copies in the U.S. alone. The album was at #1 for eight weeks in early 1977 (non-consecutively), and included two tracks which became #1 hits as singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "New Kid in Town", on February 26, 1977, and "Hotel California" on May 7, 1977.Hotel California is one of the top 15 best-selling albums of all time in any category.

  • Respect : highly controversial - i blame VH1 poll for this cry Note - Please check out this Vh1 2000 POLL and i am sorry if i misunderstood things
