Make a dedicated iPhone or Mobile version of your blog for free !

Hello Humanoids , I was just going through various websites and i read it somewhere that 10 % ( correct me if i am wrong )of the smart phones market has been captured by the iPhones , and this is huge . So i wondered how i could have an iPhone version of my blog , and this website couldn't have been better .

Mofuse : Mofuse is a website that mobilises your blog / website on a .mobi domain . MoFuse gives content publishers, like bloggers, the ability to publish their content to the mobile web. You don't have to be a content publisher to use MoFuse though, anyone can create a mobile website in just a few minutes using the intuitive MoFuse platform.

Making your blog / website into  a mobile compatible version is very easy .

  • Just  go to the homepage  , see the mobilize now window , add your site url and click on mobilize it  mobilize it !

  • Then keep following the steps and you shall have your own mobile version of it ;)

So what features do we get :

See , once you get the mobile domain done , you can get options like :

  • Custom Domain
  • Designing or coloring your mobile blog
  • Making a logo for the blog
  • Editing home page , adding links , adding pages
  • Comment widgets
  • Click to call  , sms widget , click to call ,etc
  • You also get to know the stats of your blog , this is great since you get to know how many people actually read the mobile version of your blog !

If you are using a custom domain , then great news my friend !  This is how you can creat a subdomain :

  • In order to use a custom domain with your MoFuse mobile site you will need to be able to add a CNAME entry into your DNS.
  • Make a CNAME entry in your DNS and point it to: your-mofuse-address.mofuse.mobi
Note: It make take up to 48 hours for your DNS to make the changes , but in my case it happened in matter of seconds .

Hope you did enjoy reading this article , and i  shall write a seperate post if i make a mobile version of my blog .

Take  Care,

Swype : Next Generation of Keyboard Input !

Hello Humanoids . Its time to have a   look at Next -  gen technology in mobiles . This is the age of Touch Screen Mobiles, leading the pack is iPhone 3G  . But here is one application from the T9 fame who could be on every touch screen mobile possible  :

What is Swype and what does it do ?

Swype provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard, the patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier than other data input methods—at over 50 words per minute. The application is designed to work across a variety of devices such as phones, tablets, game consoles, kiosks, televisions, virtual screens and more.

Swype works with an on-screen QWERTY keyboard like you have on the tablet version of Windows and on the iPhone . But instead of tapping letters out, you press your finger or stylus on the first letter, then, without lifting it, move it to the remaining letters in the word. When the word is done, then you lift. In other words , Swype allows you to type out your text messages by connecting the dots. All you need to do is put your finger or stylus on a touchscreen keyboard, and “Swype” it along the word that you need to spell.

Features of Swype  :

  • Over 40 words per minute on touchscreen devices
  • Standard QWERTY layout
  • Use a stylus or finger
  • Ideal for Smartphones and Tablet PCs
  • Multiple languages available
  • Supports common editing actions
  • Patented
  • SDK available now!
  • Single Tap Predictive Text for mobile device
You can see more of it here :  Specifications

So who developed this thing ?

It was developed by Cliff Kushler, a developer of the T9 text entry system that most of us use on our text messaging in order to avoid hitting the same button more than once for a different letter.

Current Platforms they are working on

The development team is focused on Windows Mobile (smartphones) and also the tablet version of XP and Vista, and Surface . They are planning to develop for Linux and Symbian platform as well .

Is it as simple as it sounds ?

After observing some videos i have observed 1 most important thing :  The frequency of typing the letters and the results was approximately 21 words per minute which isn't impressive and to improve this you need to practise hard at this !

Here are the advance keypads in Swype :

But according to Skype : Swype is faster than existing text entry methods because it has built-in intelligence that does not require users to hit each letter accurately. Also, tracing a smooth, continuous path is much faster than “target-tap-lift-target-tap...”. Even novice users can quickly achieve sustained data entry speeds of over 40 words per minute.

The biggest Problem for Swype :

Firstly , the name itself ,I thought it was some Skype product but then when i did read about it ,I came to know it was a great product .
Personal Secret :  every time i tried typing Swype , i mistakenly kept typing Skype ! It was truly annoying :-(

The biggest challenge is convincing the users to use their products instead of the default ones , which is very difficult indeed . If Swype does have few talks about getting into as a default application , then only it can survive .

Great , so when is it going to be publicly or officialy available ?   :

Have no idea to be honest , but you can do  a self help !  Just register yourself here and get to know when it is coming to a device near you !

Here is a video  from CNet which explains it all :

So thats all from the world of Mobiles and its technology ,

Do bring in your views about the changes from T9 to Swype and of course the Evolution of Mobiles !

Take care ,

Now enjoy Widgets on your Mobile !

Hello humanoids . Sorry for the delay in post since i have been busy with studies .

I have been a frequent user of internet through my Mobile and love using Opera on my mobile but Since you all know about widgets in our desktops are used by people in large number , why not not make life easy on the internet as well ?

So here is the perfect thing for people who want widgets on their Internet Enabled Mobile Phones !

Here is how Widsets describe itself :

With WidSets you can get your favorite web content straight to your mobile phone. Find news and information, stay in touch with email and blogs, play games, share pictures and more. WidSets uses mini-applications called widgets to push updates from your favorite sites directly to your phone. Why waste time surfing for information when WidSets can do it for you?
Well like always for the technically strong people , here is how Wikipedia looks at widsets :

WidSets is a mobile runtime technology, and a mobile service powered by the said technology, based on the Java MIDP 2.0 platform, from the Finnish mobile giant Nokia. it is both a widget engine and a widget deployment service where mini-applications called widgets can be uploaded to WidSets servers to be compiled and then automatically deployed to MIDP 2.0 compliant mobile phones running the WidSets client software. The widgets are created using Extensible Markup Language (XML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Helium scripting language.[1]
WidSets was officially launched on October 2006, it worked on all Java MIDP 2.0 phones, including non-Nokia ones, and was regarded as a mobile counterpart to Netvibes. The current version as of May 2008 is version 2.0.0 for both the client and the SDK.

Lets check out some of the cool features :

Get WidSets to your mobile phone and stay informed on the go. WidSets supports 56 different languages and offers over 4000 different widgets to choose from - tailor the service to your liking! The cool thing about WidSets is that it informs you about updates automatically, making surfing the web obsolete.

Log-in to widsets.com where you can carry out extensive searches to find new interesting widgets. You can also add a personal touch to your own widgets with our handy widget editor! Take the chance to meet the other users and see what widgets they are using.

Here is the list of some of the most important features :

  • Over 4000 widgets - I used 10 widgets and yeah most of them work really well.
  • Organize! -  Thats the big deal , its fully customizable to match you needs .
  • Create your own widgets - I created some of the widgets for my blog , hopefully will work on it !
  • Share and Bookmark -  I have widgets for most of the websites i use and for the remaining this thing rocks on !
  • Monitor your traffic - Sadly havn't tried this but looks a trendy feature to me .
  • Power-search!
  • Personalize your widgets!
  • See who else is there ! - * Cough *

I have been using this Gorgeous application for my N - 73 ME and have been highly impressed by the customization of this widget . As far as i know , the widsets gallery has more than 6,294 widgets and lots of them are  "official widgets " too , so you can trust on them . Dont forget to check out some of the featured widgets for your widsets !

Wondering how much its costs ?  DUH !  Its free  buddy :)

Oh wait i still see that sign of being worried !  Are you worried if your mobile supports the widsets  ?

Here have a look at the list of Compatible Mobile Phones : Click here

And remember this important point :

Although your device may not be on this list, chances are that WidSets will work just fine on your phone.
Simply download and install the application to see if it works. Bear in mind that your service provider settings may affect the way WidSets works on your phone. If you´re having phone-related problems, visit our Forum section for more help. In Techie language: your phone needs to support Java MidP2

iPhone 3G is here * Goodluck Apple * !

Hello humanoids ! Well i know the topic seems pretty , dull boring and it makes me look like an Apple employee but seriously iPhone and iPhone 3G are totally revolutionary , not many of us could have thought of a phone being molded down to plastic with a touchscreen and maps guiding you ! And the best part is that it is totally affordable .

So instead of wasting time , lets first show you some reviews and few videos :]

  • Engadget : For our money, you're going to have a hard time finding a better device for two hundred bucks -- or maybe even for any price. But that doesn't mean you ought to toss your original iPhone, either. With the release of iPhone 2.0, Apple's given early adopters every possible new feature for free, meaning the iPhone 3G's biggest roadblock to adoption in the US may be its still very worthy predecessor. But as Steve says, "If anybody is going to cannibalize us, I want it to be us." As for the rest of the world? Things are about to get interesting . Read more here .

  • Gizmodo : Apple has eliminated so many annoying little hang-ups that you might run into when using the old one. The GPS pinpoints to meters instead of blocks. The 3G connection slashes web loading times by minutes to seconds. The more rounded case feels great in the hand. And most importantly the new software polishes the OS and opens the phone up to nearly unlimited capabilities through the countless programs that are already being written by the brilliant legions of faithful developers. It's kind of cool.Read more here .

  • Wired : Unlike rest of the heavyweights , Wired decided to upload a perfect video for an iPhone 3G review :]

Hopefully those three heavyweights are enough to tell you how big or how overhyped the iPhone is !

Good news for Apple fanboys and people who are interested in buying an iPhone 3G .

  • From Apple.com : Apple sells one million iPhone 3Gs in first weekend

July 14, 2008

On Sunday, Apple sold its one millionth iPhone 3G, the company announced today. “iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world .

^ Good for Apple , right ?

Too much of iPhone for now , i think its time to make you all smile around a little bit and yeah this funny Iphone 3G video is fully of sarcasm . * Some of it is totally true *

Video tutorial: unlock iphone

I hope the collection and reviews and ofcourse videos made you clear what and what not is the new iPhone 3G is capable of .

Time for me to sign off and do tell me if u r going to buy that iPhone 3G or not.

Take care,

Collection of some So Called " iPhone Killers " !

Since its launch ,its been called the ultimate next gen mobile . Everybody likes it design, its colour, its sleekiness, its features and some critics call it as 'lack of features'. By the way i am not here to talk about I-phone, I am here to talk about the next gen I-phone killers ! You guys dont know but i made a post a 'Zune the I-pod killer' ,but Zune couldnt kill it , it couldnt even disturb the Ipod sales. Anyways here are some mobiles which are pretty attractive by style and features and maybe pretty repulsive by price tag wink .

  • Open Moko :- The first version is the NEO 1973 mobile phone, which carries the Linux kernel inside and is not locked to a specific network, it shares a design philosophy -- no buttons, just a screen -- and it's ready to be loaded with any number of open-source software applications. The base version of the NEO sells for $300. It has a 2.8" VGA touch screen, a micro SD card slot, a USB port and 2.5G GSM quad band capability.
Keep in mind that this unit (the GTA01) was pushed out early so developers could begin writing device drivers, custom GUIs and some cool apps for the phone. The next revision (GTA02), which will be available starting at $450 in October, will be ready for the mass market. It will have wi-fi, 3-D motion sensors and added graphics accelerators. So this phone isn't exactly an iPhone killer -- the next one will be a contender.

      • Another Version is the Neo Advanced This Hacker's Dream Box is a heavy duty, mysterious black box that houses the OpenMoko development board. The Advanced kit is padded to protect your Neo 1973, development board, and accessories for hackers in transport.
This is a Developer Version The Consumer-ready hardware will be available around year's end, with Consumer-ready software to follow some time after that. If you are a Developer, jump in, the water's fine. If you do not know how to program, please consider waiting for the Consumer-ready hardware and software.

    • Google G-Phone or Google Switch : What would make the Google Switch an iPhone killer? The touchscreen is similar to the one on the iPhone so that would not do it. The Google Switch is said to be 3G unlike the iPhone's 2.5G. It would need to be 3G with HSDPA to make up for having all applications on the network and not on the device itself. Call me suspicious, but, would this be an opportunity to charge more for the menu of attached applications? Then on the other hand that may provide a better opportunity to have a wider variety of applications - something that the iPhone lacks. So, that would probably be a wash for most people. The iPhone has Google Maps but no built in GPS. The Google Switch is reported to have GPS built in.What more do you want ? Did you say anything ? OH !! Stupid me ! You all need a screen shot :)

      • Samsung F700 : First iPhone Killer - Samsung F700 is an ultra smart HSDPA capable 3.5G mobile phone. The Samsung F700 phone is an elegantly designed mobile phone which includes best range of multimedia features with download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. The handset supports GPRS, UMTS (3G) and EDGE minus WiFi. The Samsung F700 mobile phone is built with a touch screen with Drag and drop facility and QWERTY key pad. Samsung F700 handset comes with a 5 MP digital camera with auto focus and flash. It also includes a secondary camera to make video calls. You can watch videos, listen to songs, share your photographs and send and receive email with a Samsung F700 handset.

    • LG Verizon Voyager : The LG Voyager, aka the VX10000, is a huge—and hugely ambitious—phone. At 4.6 by 2.1 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and 4.7 ounces, it's a bit of a boat, but it's an elegant one, with silvery edges and a solid feel. The front of the Voyager is dominated by a 2.8-inch, 400-by-240-pixel touch screen, and below the display, you'll find Send, End, and Clear buttons.Like most Verizon phones, the Voyager syncs with Windows Media You can store files in the whopping 183MB of available internal memory or on a microSD card (up to 8GB). A 4GB Kingston microSD memory card full of music worked fine, and tunes played seamlessly over wired and Bluetooth headsetsThe 2MP autofocus camera takes photos that are for the most part acceptable, though bright areas in outdoor shots are overexposed, and captures slightly dark 320-by-240 videos. So those are the things u need to know i remember there was a verizonvoyaager.org site or something but its no more sad.

    • HTC Touch : Being based on the HTC Elf, the HTC Touch sports a 2.8 inch screen, quad-band GSM radio with EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, microSD slot, and 2 MP shooter - all running under Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional. The Touch will come pre-installed with Office Mobile and Microsoft's Direct Push Email system.HTC Touch is Comparatively lighter than Apple iPhone. HTC Touch weighs 112g while iPhone weighs 135g. iPhone has a bigger screen size (3.5inches) compared to HTC Touch (2.8inches) Both phones come with two megapixels camera and Wi-Fi facility. HTC touch has two colour options: green or black while Apple’s iPhone come in elegant Black or Silver . Here is a screenshot :

    • Sony Ericsson Xperia : Wondering why i put this toughest competitor to I-phone so late ? because its already in my blog ! Click here to read . cool

    • Nokia Tube : Combine the best functionality from the already existing Smartphone and Internet Tablet line-ups, and Nokia's new iPhone competitor would naturally be named "Nokia N900 Smart Tablet". The screen size probably is going to be at 3.5" with resolution of 480x320, just like the iPhone . Also most likely the screen will cover the whole device and a touch sensitive D-pad will be there.Opera will provide a full-fledged Internet browser, supporting all common standards.he N900 will sport Nokia's Ovi 2008 Edition, providing a seamless, all-around media experience, from transfer to playback of media. A 3.5mm headphone jack will be incorporated, as well as 16GB storage capacity. For additional storage capacity, the N900 will host a miniSDHC slot. Streaming and sharing of YouTube videos (full and mobile versions) will be available through the Opera web browser. The N900 will also offer a camera/camcorder with the ability to upload mobile videos directly to YouTube. The N900 will come with support for Quad-band GSM, HSDPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This beauty will be available in June 2008 ( not in inda obviously idea )

So thats bring us to the end of my search fro Iphone Killers . I have done my job and its now upto you to decide what is worth and whats not . Dont just go by the design, most importantly you should see features and ofcourse look for value for money mobiles and not style stament mobiles. Anyways its upto you to decide my job is done .And after doing this job all i need are comments lol

      Cya later guys !
